Larry was born in Victoria, BC on April 28, 1946 and passed away unexpectedly at home on August 14, 2021. Pre-deceased by his parents, Clarence and Doreen (nee Godley). Larry is survived by his brother, Brent (Terry); nephew, James (Leslie) (Clara and Hannah); niece, Kim (Liam) (Brantlee, Braxton, Braiden and Bradoc); good friends Don (Gill) Lambourne and Helen Neufeld; as well as many other good friends, relatives and the staff at Parkwood.
When Larry made a friend, they were friends for life. He was a kind, caring and hardworking man, who loved to watch sports and was always willing to help a friend in need. Larry will be missed by all who knew him.
By Larry’s own request, there will be no formal service at this time. He would appreciate if those who are able to make a donation to the “War Amps CHAMP Program” in his memory.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

INDIVIDUAL DRY CLEANERS Mr. Baker was a long time customer of ours @ Individual Dry Cleaners. Even though we offer a pick up and delivery service to his home, he still wanted to come and visit us in person, he would catch the bus here once a month. He was such a kind man, so soft spoken and polite. Years ago he brought up his lady friend to introduce us. It was a shock to see that he had passed as he had been in for a visit w/ us that week. Our condolences. We’ll miss seeing his cute face. Quite the handsome man.
Regards,
Yvonne, Suzanne, Lorna and Sheralyn

Rob Larman Words cannot convey the sadness we all felt when we heard the news of Larry’s sudden passing. As a graduate member of CHAMP, I personally have fond memories of his mother and father, Clink and Doreen, as they attended many of The War Amps CHAMP seminars. Clink was an inspiration to many. I was also fortunate to have had the pleasure of meeting Larry on many occasions when he joined his parents at these events. Larry’s kind soul, love and appreciation of the work our war amputee veterans did for amputees across this great country, will be fondly remembered. I certainly hope your memories will ease your sorrows during this very difficult time. On behalf of everyone here at The War Amps, please accept our deepest condolences for your loss.

Lori Docherty I wish to offer my condolences to the family. I was surprised to hear of Larry’s passing. As an old neighbour of Larry’s I knew him to be a kind gentle soul. I enjoyed talking with Larry on his visits back to the neighborhood. He will be missed!

Marilyn & Vernon Cann Dear Brent and family.
We will miss Larry’s calls, he has always been so friendly and a pleasant guy to chat with.
This last time we spoke with Larry we had decided that we would wait for the Covid scare to be calmed down before he and his friend would come for dinner with our family. I’m so sorry we missed that.
He was so much like his Mom, Doreen and she is missed also.

Avy Woo I am Helen Neufeld’s DIL and I’ve known Larry now for over 10 years. He was very devoted to Helen and we are blessed to have Larry look out for Helen all these years. I have had Larry to our Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving dinners, as well as their birthdays, and I will miss him at our table. He was a very kind man.
May we offer belated condolences, from England, to Larry’s family and friends. Larry’s mum, Dorie, and his aunt, Peggy, were 1st cousins to my mum, Ruby. We visited the family in 1998, both in Victoria and Surrey, Vancouver, and have kept in touch. Both Peggy and my mum have since passed on, and we found out about Dorie’s passing from Peggy. Sometimes Larry would phone from the retirement living home, after receiving a Christmas or birthday card. It was strange that he didn’t after Christmas ’21. Recently though, we had our birthday card returned, unopened, saying simply, ‘Change of address’. Finding news of his sad passing now surpasses our attempts to find information from Parkwood Place. Love to his friends and family, from Derek, my wife Yvonne, and our daughter Florence.
