Anne passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021, surrounded by family. Anne chose medical assistance in dying at the age of 94.
The eldest of three daughters to Cliff and Doris Collison, Anne was born and raised in Victoria, BC where she went to Oak Bay high school and spent 2 years at Victoria College before transferring to UBC and completing a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology in 1949. After graduation, she moved to Toronto and worked as a Lab Technician. She returned to Victoria in 1951 and shortly thereafter was re-acquainted with Victoria boy, Hugh Singleton Ford, and they were married in 1953 on Halloween.
Family was central to her life as she raised four children and kept in regular contact and exchanged family news with relatives near and far.
She participated in many activities to support her family as they grew up including car camping, sailing trips and ski trips and played golf and bridge with Hugh and friends but her passion was gardening. She created beautiful flower beds around the homes she and Hugh lived in over the years.
Anne was predeceased by Hugh after 50 years of marriage and by her sisters Beth Pattullo and Clare Smith. She will be greatly missed by her four children and their spouses, Bruce and Loretta, Kim and Ridley Shields, Janet and Omer Magusin and Susan and Tom Evans; grandchildren, James and Duncan Ford, Samantha and Nathan Shields, Elizabeth Magusin and Janet (Luke) and John (Gaby) Edmison; great-grandchildren Baz and Stanley (Janet & Luke).
The family is thankful for the kind support of the staff at The Victorian and the compassionate, loving care provided by Luxcare Seniors Care.
There will be a private service and flowers are gratefully declined. Friends wishing to remember Anne’s life may consider a contribution to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Andy and Dianne Chiasson We are saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Ford. Our sincere condolences to the Family. Andy was her weekly gardener at the Sooke property for over 20 years. Andy would speak kindly of both Mr. & Mrs. Ford. Your Mom took an interest in our Family and we will miss connecting with her each Christmas. She shared generously her dahlia tubers with us which we enjoyed in our garden for many years. It has been a great pleasure to have known both your Mom and Dad.

Laurie O'Neill Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve the loss of your dear Mom, Anne. We lived on Woodburn Ave. and were friends of your family friend Janet Jackson. Michael and your Dad were medical colleagues. Your Mom and Dad generously shared their beautiful property in Sooke with our family and we all have wonderful memories of our Sooke Harbor vacation, and will always be grateful to them.
Anne was always warm , kind and always took great interest in our family and our children.

Dear Janet and Family, I suppose it is inevitable that we should see that sad notice of your mother, another of an ever-increasing passing of the old guard of our parents and their friends. Your mum and dad were stalwart friends of my parents and your mother was keen to visit my mom until the end of Mum’s life about 2 years ago. Anne gave us all good times, fond memories and true friendship; her warm smile and presence was known to all of us children of Pierre and Shirley and we miss the good old days when all were healthy, robust and social together. We enjoyed her in life and will retain only positive memories of our times together with her. We send our sad condolences in this rite of passage for all of us. Would that it could be otherwise…
