Our lovely mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021 in Victoria.
Mom had a happy childhood growing up in the Fairfield area surrounded by many family and friends. Mom and Dad met and married in Victoria but spent the next many years in Vancouver raising their family. Mom had a lifelong involvement with swimming from giving lessons to youngsters and progressing to synchronized swimming as a Coach and National Judge. Later she enjoyed her time working at Monterey Centre where she formed lasting friendships with colleagues and members.
Mom was always a gracious host and loved gatherings with family and friends for dinners, parties or tea. She enjoyed walks on the beach, her numerous loving dogs, beautiful gardens, fashion and colour, ‘bling’ and family. She showed us a life of kindness, happiness, resilience and wisdom. She was a cheerful positive voice and always ready to share her lovely smile.
Mom was predeceased by Bob, her loving husband of 59 years. She is survived by her sister Pat (Kenny); children Diana, Carol (Gary), Wendi (Bernie), Paul (Bruce); her grandchildren Jason (Leah), Aaron (Karolyn), Jay (Nikki), Lindsay (Allen) and her great-grandchildren Jaila, Kingston, Edwin and Stella. She was loved and will be missed by all.
The family extends gratitude to Dr. Herb Domke for his long and caring involvement with our parents and family. We also thank Mom’s caregivers and friends at Parkwood Court where she lived for the last 4 years.
A family memorial will take place at a later date.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I was a youngster when I first met Iris through synchronized swimming and reconnected many years later as young adult at ROB. Always a warm welcome and smile for all. She excelled at Monterey Centre with the seniors programs. My deepest condolences to her family.
