Orval passed away at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC on April 24th, 2021 in his 85th year after a prolonged illness. He was born in Shaunavon Saskatchewan to Clayton Oppertshauser and Esmay (Fleming) Oppertshauser. He was predeceased by his parents and two stepmothers Margaret (Tindal) Oppertshauser and Winnifred (Barfoot) Oppertshauser.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Orpha Joan Oppertshauser of Wainfleet Ontario, his sister Verna Hardie and her husband Neil, family of Listowel Ontario, his brother David and wife Connie Oppertshauser and family of Allenford Ontario.
Orval was an avid bird watcher, loved gardening and the great outdoors. He was a kind and loving person who had a vibrant sense of humour, always trying to brighten people’s days with a little joke. He was a long-time employee of the post office in Toronto retiring to Victoria in 1989. He will be sadly missed by his wife and all of his family.
