Margaret passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on April 11, 2021. She was a caring and compassionate, wife, mother, sister, “Aunty Market”, grandmother, and friend. She was predeceased by her adoring husband, John Eby and survived by her children, Jennifer (Paul) Jones, Don, Carol, beautiful creative granddaughter Andrea Jones, sister Irene Booth, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Margaret was the youngest of seven children born in Victoria to British Immigrants, Thomas and Isabel Wilson. She was predeceased by her brothers, Tom, Dave, Gordon, Dick and George.
She had fond memories and cherished long-time friendships from attending Burnside and Quadra Elementary Schools, and Victoria High School (1952 grad). After receiving her Laboratory Technology training from Victoria College, her caring nature led her to enjoy a fulfilling career in hospital labs in Toronto, Wisconsin, Prince Rupert and all three hospital labs in Victoria. Margaret and John met at the curling club in Prince Rupert and were married in Victoria in 1962. They began their family in Prince Rupert before moving to Victoria in 1969.
Margaret was devoted to supporting her children in their many passions and endeavors. The family enjoyed countless outdoor adventures together around BC. She also found joy in attending and supporting local dance, music, and theatre in Victoria. Margaret will be remembered for her generous and kind heart towards family, friends, her community, and the visiting birds at her window. Many people will have delicious memories of her scones. We will miss you dearly Mom, thank you for your kindness, laughter, and love.
The family would like to thank Dr. Prendergast, Dr. Clark and the teams in the ER, 8N and 8S at the Jubilee for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your charity of choice. A celebration of life will be forthcoming when conditions allow.

Dr. Sydney Sparling Dear Margaret’s family,
Our condolences to each and all in this time of sorrow. It is through the dance that our paths crossed many times. Our love to all, and especially to Carol who shared hours of ballet classes and rehearsals with my daughter, Sydney, while we mothers got to know one another. Margaret’s smile and warmth were so genuine and consistent.

Tom Pengelly We send you our Sincere Condolences in the passing of your dear Margaret Kathleen Eby (Nee Wilson). We haven’t seen Margaret or any of her family for many years but reading your family names takes us down memory lane to our Victoria days when Garf, Jennie, Auntie Peg & Uncle Jim, & many other relatives were still alive and enjoying times with family and friends. We empathize with your loss but we know that Margaret is at peace together again with her family of origin. Sincerely to all of you, Tom & Beth, Rob & Craig Pengelly (Delta BC)

Christine Peterson I was so sorry to hear of Margaret’s passing. I only met Margaret a few times but she is someone who made an impression. Margaret was a good friend of my mother (Bert) whose Birthday it would have been today. They met as part of a Hospice walking group and I remember my Mom talking about Margaret because they loved to laugh together. When Mom moved into independent living and then into long term care Margaret visited her often even when Margaret had mobility issues. I will remember Margaret for her kindness, compassion, and the twinkle in her eye. She was an angel on earth and no doubt earned her wings. ❤️
We were very sorry to hear of Margaret’s passing. We did not see her often after I (Neil) left B.C., but when we did, she was always a warm and friendly aunt. It will be hard to imagine that Victoria is there without her.
Our condolences to Jennifer, Carol, Don, and all of the family.
