Sing Moy passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021 in Victoria, BC. She was born on August 15, 1941 in Chung Shan, Kwang Tung, China. She is survived by her husband, Gum Hon and her children, Janice (Nelson), Judy (Don), Linda (Wayne), and Amy (Terry); grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Alex, Andrew, James, and Jason; great grandchild, Annabelle. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Sing Moy and Gum Hon married in 1960 after she immigrated to Canada. They raised their first three daughters in Vancouver. They then moved the family to Victoria, where they raised their youngest daughter. When she wasn’t looking after all the grandchildren growing up, she could be found in the garden tending to all the vegetables she grew year after year.
Thank you to the care team at 7 South, Patient Care Centre, Royal Jubilee Hospital for keeping her comfortable during her final days. Due to COVID restrictions, a private Celebration of Sing Moy’s life will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer – Victoria, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5, http://www.bccancer.bc.ca/donate or to a charity of your choice.
