Passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2021. Born in Victoria, September 1, 1937 to Gaby and John Hebden, an only child, her young life was full of fun with her young parents. Shirley attended Vic High, became a side drummer for the Victoria Girls Pipe band and a competitive figure roller skater. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart and had three children. She lived in Germany in the early 70s and had many happy memories of exploring Europe with her young family. Shirley raised her family on Ten Mile Point in Victoria and went on to work for UVIC as an executive secretary; there she met the love of her life. Shirley married Robert Campbell on October 18, 1988. With a great love of the ocean, she and Bob enjoyed many years exploring the waters off Vancouver Island on their sailboat, Gentle Air. They also travelled regularly to Maui where Shirley spent many hours walking the beaches. Shirley was always happiest near the ocean. She also loved music, was a beautiful pianist and could appreciate a good Neil Diamond song like no other.
Her infectious love and kindness will be greatly missed by her husband, Bob, son John, daughters, Cathi and Jill and grandchildren, Alexa, Jake, Callie and Garrett. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Barbara Dohm ( Hebden) Dear Bob and family,
I just heard today that my cousin Shirley passed recently.
I was deeply saddened as I have not heard from Shirley for many years but I remember her fondly. She was older than I and when I moved out of town I may have met her a couple more times after that and each time being in her company brought me joy. My sincere condolences to you and her family

Lesley Hebden St John Dear Bob, John, Cathy and Jill
It is with sadness that I have just learned of Shirley’s death in January. I send my love and condolences. Shirley was my Hebden cousin whomI visited over the years from parties at her house on Doncaster St to her home in Saanich with Bob.
She was a lovely happy lady much like her dear Mom, my auntie Gaby. I will always remember her beauty and smile.

Shirley brought a ray of light to the room which remained long after she left my office. My thoughts are with you, Bob

MELBOURNE AND Katherine Check It was with great sorrow that we read that Shirley had left us. As we live in Nanaimo now we do not get as much personal info as we used to. We know how much you will miss her Bob and only time will lessen the pain. But know that your friends are there for you.

Sally Bell Thinking of the family at this time with heart felt sympathy. It was many years ago that Gerry and I had the joy of knowing Shirley and as I am the same age I feel so fortunate in having the happy life as long as we have. I trust you will be able to share her wonderful memory together soon. My love to you all, Sally
