It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our brother, George Earl Storry, on June 20, 2020 at the age of 65. George passed away quietly in his home in Langford, BC. George was predeceased by his father, George in 1986 and his mother, Sylvia in 1996. He is survived by his spouse Rhonda, brothers Vern, Wayne and Ross (Lori), sisters Darlene (Brian), Beryl (Gord), Colleen (Scott), Debbie (Ed), Norine (Ernie) and Laverne (Norman), and many nieces and nephews.
George was born on July 4, 1954 in Old Massett, Haida Gwaii, BC to George and Sylvia (Kelly) Storry and belonged to the Saangga.ahl Sdast’aas Eagle Clan. George was a gifted Haida artist carrying on in the tradition of his ancestors. In his lifetime, he created many traditional Haida carvings that reflected his rich cultural heritage. His mom and siblings were so proud of George’s talent and so grateful that he helped renew the family’s connection to their Haida culture and traditions.
From a young age, George loved to work with his hands and repair & rebuild automobiles. He had so many talents and was completely self taught. In recent days, he had many projects on the go and was looking forward to riding his motorcycle and going fishing.
George’s life was not an easy one with many trials and tribulations. Through all the tests that life gave him, his love for his family never wavered. He truly believed that the Creator always had a plan for him and it was not for him to question this plan.
A private family service will be held in Haida Gwaii, BC at a later date.
The long, hard journey is over. Rest in peace dear brother. We will love you always!

We lived in Delkatla or the Haida name would be Dahl Kaathlaay. We used to fish off the bridge, paddle our homemade rafts around, climb the hill. Sorry for your loss, please accept my sympathy. Take care,we believe in the other side, our relatives came for him.
