Marion passed away on the first day of Spring, March 19, 2020, in Victoria BC. She was born on November 24,1929, in Guelph Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Jack, in 2004 and her son Peter, in 2008. Marion is survived by her son Joel and her daughter Carol; grandchildren Allen (Carmen), Christopher, Ali (Christopher), Dylan (Shellby), Robin, and Wynoah; great grandchildren Jack, and George; daughter-in-law Jill (Tim), and many close friends and extended family.
Marion was born and raised in Guelph Ontario. She graduated from MacDonald Hall at the University of Guelph, in 1949. She married Jack in 1951 and they moved to Newmarket and raised a family. Marion was a homemaker and active member of the community, volunteering for the York County Hospital women’s auxiliary and other charities. Marion’s sparkle and fun-loving personality brought family and friends together throughout her entire life. Her passion for travel took her on many international adventures; she was an engaging story teller and had a generous spirit.
Marion and Jack moved to Victoria in 2001, where she enjoyed the arts, music and anything related to fashion, colour and design. She became an active bridge player until later in life. Living in Victoria she made many friends; but always spoke fondly of her roots in Ontario and the many close friends she had loved.
Marion was a lady of style and flair; she will remain in our hearts forever.
Due to current public health concerns, a ceremony has not been planned.

From the last 19 years that I had the pleasure of knowing Marion I have countless memories of her creative spirit. We worked together designing many outfits. She was always willing to push the envelope with regards to color and design which made every project a fun adventure. She was a fun loving and joyous person to be around. She became a close friend with whom I could discuss the many troubles encountered in daily life. Her loss will leave a large hole in my heart. She will be greatly missed. My condolences.

Norma and Jim Christou Marion was such a delightful friend . She was full of wonderful stories and enjoyed getting out for lunch and bridge games when she was well. Always looking current and fashionable she was very interested in what were the latest styles. She was a bright light in our lives .

I want to share a bridge memory with you. When I retired seventeen years ago I took duplicate bridge lessons from Delma Murray. She taught about four or five tables of beginners in a small room at St. Aidan’s Church. Marion was among this group so we got to know her quite well. We started to have bridge social gatherings at different people’s homes and Marion often offered her lovely townhouse in Gordon Head and then her condo in Oak Bay as the venue for our bridge games. She was a wonderful hostess, always having special pickings for us to nibble on throughout the evening. We all took an offering, be it food or a bottle of wine, but Marion always had something special for us. I remember how gracious she was and how she always had a smile on her face, even though I knew she had health concerns that would make anyone else cancel the bridge evening. She had a good sense of humour, and we always looked forward to the bridge evenings at Marion’s. She was missed when she stopped playing duplicate bridge at the club.

I have had many pleasures thru the years with your parents in New Market Ontario.I worked for the Family in Canadian Tire with your Father and Mom many years. Your parents became my second Family. I enjoyed many great moments having personal time in their Home. Your Brother Peter also was a Great Friend to me and we shared many hours together working side by side.
