Tom was born in Westlock, Alberta to Martin and Marion (nee Butterfield) Antonson. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Lisa; grandsons, Jordan and Alex; son, Alan (Jen) and granddaughter, Abby; son-in-law, Wayne; his siblings, Glenda, Andy (Linda) and Sonia (Don) and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Marion.
Tom grew up in Pibroch, Alberta and lived with his family on his Grandparent’s Antonson homestead, eventually, the family moving permanently to Victoria.
He attended Victoria High School and excelled in Track and Field events. He also enjoyed slo-pitch baseball and Sunday night bowling at Mayfair Lanes. After High School, he worked for Gainers Meats in Victoria as a driver, moving on to drive Semi-Tractors with Sidney Freight and later driving dump trucks with Michell Excavating. He had recently retired and was enjoying his time going to the pool and watching sports on tv.
Tom passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital after a short battle with cancer. The family thanks the Emergency Room and ICU Doctors at Royal Jubilee for their efforts to help during this difficult time.
No service, cremation has taken place. Ashes will be scattered at a later date in Victoria, BC and near Westlock, Alberta.
