Passed away peacefully at VGH on May 31, 2019 with his family by his side. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon; son, Stephen (Akiko); daughter, Michelle (Giovanni) and his grandkids, Selina, Gabriel and Ronaldo; his brother, Claude (Brenda) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Maurice Duruisseau; mom, Rose and step-dad, Ray Norfolk; parents-in-law, Tom and Irene Mitchell; sister, Maureen Stewart; son-in-law, Daniel Carreiro.
He had an amazing adventure in life, 
loving everyone with all his heart. “Rest In Peace fishing in the big pond with Tom”.
No funeral by request.

Gillian Hackett Dear Sharon, Stephen and Michelle,
I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I have so many memories of him – as both a teacher and a good friend to my mom and dad. He was full of life, and loved to share his stories, especially about being in the Navy.
Sharon, you’ve been such a devoted wife and caregiver. George couldn’t have asked for a better person to be there for him as his health declined. You are all in our thoughts.

Jean ofner Dear Sharon, my.deepest condolences to you and your family. I know what a wonderful life you had together and how much he will be missed. I still remember meeting George back in the 1980’s when I was having lunch with some of the girls from work and we ran into you two at the Sim Mile Pub. You joined us for a drink and I fondly remember the colourful description George gave us of the first time he had dinner with your parents. Thinking of you with a great deal of empathy.

For many years I taught with George at Braefoot. He was a much respected and well loved teacher. He was concerned about the students and did many things to support them. I remember one snowstorm we had that left the roads impossible to get to school. I walked to school not knowing that it had been canceled and was standing locked out on the doorstep wondering what I would do to get back home when I saw a car slowly making the way through the snow covered road. It was George coming to just check to make sure that no students had turned up and would be stuck there. We waited for a while to make sure no students turned up. And thenhe offered to drive me home which I gladly excepted.
George will be missed.

Dearest family, I want to send my mother’s deepest condolences. George was her wee cousin and of course Chickie too. It’s taken years to find all of you. Very saddened to find this news. Uncle Maury Duruisseau was very dear to my mom. (Yvonne Marie nee Rennolf) After he passed away in the war, all contact was lost after auntie Teddy’s wedding. Mom remembers playing with George and Chickie fondly. I will leave my email.
