Born August 19, 1922, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on a moonlit Saturday morning, April 27, 2019. He was 96 years young or more than 35,000 moons as he liked to say.
Norbert was a kind and gentle soul and will be sorely missed by his large and loving family and the many people that he touched. He loved to square dance and enjoyed it for more than 40 years often dancing several evenings a week. Many of us have “handcrafted by Norbert” woodworking projects to treasure. He also excelled at reciting poetry learned and remembered from childhood. This is part of one by William Wordsworth that he offered up a few days before passing.
“And then my heart with pleasure fills
And dances with the daffodils.”
May he Rest In Peace.
A Celebration of Norbert’s Life will be held closer to his birthday.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Michele Bruce So sorry to hear of your Dads passing, what a dynamic person he was! Heard so many stories about him. If I remember correctly, one of the stories I heard was that he liked to wait until Christmas Eve to do his shopping and some of his choices in Christmas shopping stores were interesting, to say the least.
Uncle Norbert Demasson, I acquired him through Terry’s family and he turned out to be THE BEST Uncle, father figure, confidante, storyteller, travel companion, Mr. FIx It fand jokester that I’ve ever met. The man whose laughter was contagious, his fun nature was unforgettable and his wisdom superseded most everyone. The world knew a great soul. Uncle was always active, it seems like his energy matched the way he embraced life…full tilt and nothing less. If anyone had motivation, it was Uncle. Of course he had an appetite to match his energy so somebody better get down to cooking something tasty. The imprint Norbert left on everyone was positive and left us giggling long after our visits ended. Knobby knees, words fail me now as none can truly convey the deepest respect and forever love I feel for you. ❤️
