It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Nick on December 24, 2018 at home.  Nick is survived by his wife Jeanne; son Tony D’Eramo (Elizabeth); daughter Joanne (Darrell) Colwell; grandsons Kyle, Jake and Alec Colwell of Victoria and Nic Knorr of Kingston, Ontario.

Born in Bomba, Italy on November 17, 1931, Nick immigrated to Canada (arriving in Quebec) October 1951. Learning how to speak English on a farm just outside Kingston, Ontario, he went on to later enjoy a long career with Simpson Sears.

Over the years, Nick was Past President of Lions Clubs in both Amherstview, Ontario and Victoria, British Columbia as well as being Past Presidents of both the Italo Canadian Cultural Society and Sears Retirees.

Nick loved to garden, had a photographic-like memory of geography and really liked his crossword puzzles. He especially loved his grandsons and they their Papa.

Husband, Father, Papa and Friend, you will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved you.

A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Grew up with Nicolino in Bomba. He was a year older and spent many days together tending sheep and working our family land until we emigrated: he to Canada and I in the USA. He visited us in NY about 55 years ago. To my eternal shame I failed to maintain contacts with him and now it’s too late. My prayers and best wishes go to his widow and the entite family. Love and God bless to all

    To Jeanne, Family & Friends,
Sorry to hear about Nick’s passing. Working with him for 6 years was a wonderful learning experience for so many of us. Nick’s reputation was that you needed to be prepared for ALL meetings because he covered all aspects of a decision in advance of the meeting and no one ever got a pass if they took a decision lightly.

He enjoyed his FUN and glad that I got to know the RETAIL WIZARD. Hope all the great times help you all during this tough time.
