Robin, Regan and Erin are sad to announce the passing of husband and dad, Dennis, on December 20, 2018.

Dennis was born in Swan River, MB on November 24, 1946. Predeceased by his father, mother and brother; Dennis is survived by his wife of 45 years Robin, daughters, Regan (Brad) George and Erin (Kyle) Labbé, and three adored granddaughters Avery, Bailey and Taylor who will miss their Papa ‘The Turkey’ dearly.

Dennis completed his diploma in agriculture at the University of Manitoba and farmed in the Swan River Valley for many years before the family moved to Victoria in 1985. In Victoria, he first worked as a realtor, then as a Corrections Officer at Wilkinson Road Jail until retirement.

Dennis was spirited, kind and generous; he could make anyone laugh; he was full of imagination and always up for an adventure. He and Robin travelled as often as possible. He was always up for a fishing trip – on the lake or the ocean or a hockey game with the Traditionals. He cherished his holidays to Hornby Island, was always keen to help the girls and their husbands with projects, and he never missed the chance to visit with his dear granddaughters who brought him so much joy. Dennis loved life – he would not want us to feel sad now; rather, he would encourage us to be grateful and to start every day by announcing, “It’s a glorious morning!”

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Dennis McMillan through the Eldercare Foundation in support of AHAP at Aberdeen Hospital, where Dennis received compassionate and loving care.  Special thanks to Dr. Rideout for his support.

Donations to the Eldercare Foundation appreciated: https://gvef.org/donate/
