Amie left us tragically and suddenly after a very short, acute illness. Survived by her loving and devoted husband Tristan and their precious 14-month-old son, her pride and joy, Jordan.
Amie was predeceased by her mother Laura and leaves behind to grieve her dad and step-mom Frank and Jane Bourree, sisters Andrea (Dave), Vicki (Darrin), Jill, Lisa, Samantha, brother Tom (Pam), Mother and father-in-law Libby and Don Urquhart, sisters-in-law Sommer, Lesha and brother-in-law Marshall (Megan) Urquhart. Also, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but all who were also so important to her.
Amie was a one of a kind, optimistic and cheerful person with an uncanny talent for turning lemons into lemonade. She had a huge heart and loved openly and totally. She loved to sing and cook, sharing both with everyone. She loved her dog Chi Chi, often walking him along Dallas Road.
She had recently returned to work at the Victoria Fire Department, a job she loved, after her maternity leave. She also spent many happy years working with the Victoria School District (Monterey Middle School / SD #61).
Amie, your star will shine forever bright. Your family, friends and colleagues will miss your warmth, enthusiasm and sense of humour. We will honour your spirit by loving harder, laughing louder, and treating each other with kindness.
The family wish to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, all the staff of The Royal Jubilee Hospital for their professionalism and care while looking after Amie. We also are deeply grateful for the kindness and words of support we have received from others.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Heather Reid Dear Frank, Vicky and family
Your loss is immeasurable, there are no words that can describe the pain of loosing a child.
We spent many days and nights with Amiie during her teen years. She had the most engaging smile, full of energy, she lit up the room when she entered. I enjoyed listening to her sing as she worked towards her goal.
She is singing with the angels.
Strength and your family will help you through this

Tracy & Murray Boyce To the family,
Our sincere condolences.
I remember the day Amie was born, when her Mom Laura and I met in hospital. We were both so happy we had beautiful baby girls that day. I remember Amie as a young girl and her beautiful singing voice and the time she sang for us at their house. Amie was too young to leave this world, my heart breaks for all of you! We were so shocked and sad when we read this in the paper. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead.
-
Bob & Bev Darnell We are so sad to read of Amie’s passing. So young to be taken away from her very young son and husband. Amie was a great help to us in registering our young Grandson into Monterey Middle School in 2012.
-
Tanya Ross Heartfelt condolences to Amie’s cherished family. May you find love and strength from each other at this very difficult time. I worked with Amie at Monterey and she will always be remembered as a bright and beautiful light. I appreciated and enjoyed our daily chats – she always had much to say about her mom, dad, and siblings, as well as pets (past and present). The value she placed on family, her love for those she surrounded herself with, and for animals was ever present in our conversations. Amie made it clear that her dream at that time was to find true love and have a family of her own – and I know she was happiest in her life when she found Tristan and, then, happier still, when baby Jordan arrived. The world has lost a beautiful soul and I am so grateful to have known her.
-
Bill Billson Frank, Jane, Lisa & Sam – My sincere condolences to you and Tristan and Jordan. So sad and tragic lost. So young. Thinking of you all….RIP Amie

We had many laughs together while Amie worked at Rockheights Middle School and we kept in touch over the years after she moved to Monterey. I will miss her laugh, smile and kind heart. I am so sorry Amie won’t get to spend more time with baby Jordan as she told me her heart’s desire was to be a mom. Blessings to you all!

Vicki Bourree I had known Amie since she was a little girl, I watched her grow up from a distance, she went from a pretty young girl, to a beautiful, caring young woman. Amie and I did not converse often, every now and again, but we were friends on Facebook, and we did talk. When her mom was ill Amie talked to me quite a bit about her mom and how she was handling it, my best advice to her was, your mom was there for you, now you need to be there for her. So although Amie is not with us anymore, I give the same advice to her family, be strong and courageous, as she was for her mom, she would want you to be there for each other, remember her with tears now, but eventually remember the good times too. My heart goes out to her sisters and brother, and father, and especially her husband Tristan and son. Stay strong. If there is anything I can do, I will….in loving memory of a pretty young woman..gone too soon
