Our beloved father has gone home to be with the love of his life, Margie Magdanz. Upon his arrival, Mum said “What took you so long! Then she kissed him, handed him a shovel and said get to work!” They are happy once again in God’s Garden. Pops is survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws, Peter and Michele, Carl, David, Jennie and Heather; his lovely grandkids, Jasminka, Jessy and Hank; his sister, Gisela, brother, Bern and Inlaws, Aunty Rose, Uncle Valdemar and Aunty Karen. Hans was predeceased by his brother, Heintz. Also the entire Kreller Clan.
Hans was born in German Prussia to Heinrich and Frida Magdanz. He graduated Forestry in 1953. In 1955, he immigrated to Canada and worked at Buckerfields in Victoria. In 1958, he moved to Terrace to work for the Columbia Cellulose Co. Our parents met at a dance and fell in love. They were soon married and starting a family of five. Hans was the President of The Art Society in Terrace and surrounding areas. Mum had a lovely Art Gallery on our property called The Blue Bottle. In 1971, we moved to a great Hobby Farm in Quesnel. Hans worked as a Forester for Ernst Lumber until 1977 when we moved to Victoria. In Victoria, Hans worked the rest of his career for the BC Forest Service, Inventory Branch.
Hans and Margie spent many a weekend hiking, camping and hunting on the Island. Both our parents were amazing, intelligent, kind, generous and insanely patient people. We are truly happy that their spirits are back together for the rest of time, for it is always sunny in the Garden of our Lord.
The Celebration of Life for family and friends is at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC V8Y 1B4.

Jim Thomson Hans was always a loyal friend, ready to help, and ready to enjoy fun. He will be missed very much
I’m so sorry for the loss of your father after your mom passed. And for the late condolences. I just found out. I never met them, but I spoke with your mom often on the phone and she was so lovely and sweet. As well as your father. They are together again now in heaven enjoying another chapter. Karl, if you see this, I think about you all the time and hope you are well. I wish we could reconnect. Love to you and your family.
