Elsie passed away suddenly at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria with her husband and family at her side, her feisty independence and vitality clearly evident until just hours before her passing. Elsie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Reg, children Dudley Price and Sharon (David) Layzell and grandson Chris (Cindy) Layzell. Elsie was predeceased by her granddaughter Carey Layzell as well as by her sisters Dorothy, Gladys, Hilda and Alice.
Her early adult years in England during the Second World War shaped the rest of her life, and she was always proud of her service with the RAF. It was during these tumultuous years on the airfields of England that she met and married Reg, a young pilot from Canada. Elsie left her home and family in England to start anew in Canada in 1945. Reg and Elsie’s love of travel took them to many wonderful adventures around Canada and the world. With her children grown in the 1960’s, Elsie began a career with Eaton’s in Pointe Claire, Quebec and later at Southcentre Mall in Calgary, rising quickly to positions as department manager and assistant store manager.
At Elsie’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Condolences for the family may be offered below.

Dear Mr. Price and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I hear this news. We consider you both dear friends – we will truly miss her spirited personality. I fondly remember how you both made me feel so welcome in your home during my years at UVIC and feel privileged to have spent time with you both. You are in our prayers and may the many lasting memories you shared together help you through this difficult time.
